Description
Presented is a fabulous Dominick & Haff sterling silver gravy boat and underplate. These pieces both date to 1938. The gravy boat and its underplate are done in a simple, traditional form. These pieces are sturdy and well made, with a nice feeling of weight in the hand. The gravy boat is a large size and will hold a generous amount of gravy or sauce. The boat can be used with or without the underplate.
Both pieces are in great condition. There is some minor surface wear throughout, since we have not machine polished these pieces.There are no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of each piece is stamped sterling and with the maker’s mark for Dominick & Haff, as well as the date symbol of a trumpet for 1938.
The tray measures about 8 1/4 by 5 1/4 inches, LxW. The gravy boat stands about 5 1/2 inches tall at the highest point.
The total weight for the gravy boat and underplate is 511 grams or 18 regular ounces.
